Empowering Optometrists with Practical Skills in Fundus Imaging

5th April 2024

On Saturday, 5th April, 2025, the Diagnostic Visual Function Research (DiVFuR) Laboratory hosted a one-day intensive training session for optometrists, focused on enhancing practical skills in fundus imaging. The hands-on workshop featured demonstrations and guided practice in binocular indirect ophthalmoscopy, the use of Volk lenses, and an innovative smartphone-based fundus imaging; the Paxos Scope. Participants had the opportunity to sharpen their diagnostic imaging skills under expert supervision, gaining confidence in capturing high-quality fundus images using both traditional and digital tools. The DiVFuR Lab remains committed to promoting clinical excellence and advancing eye care through training and research. We thank all participants for making the session a success and look forward to hosting similar capacity-building events in the near future.
