Training at Functional Vision Section of the University of Freiburg, Germany

Dr Dillys Amega has just completed a one month training at the Functional Section of the Eye Unit of the University of Freiburg, from the 17th June, 2024 to 17th July, 2024. As part of her visit, she carried out research on "Effect of defocus on the agreement between psychophysical acuity and VEP-based acuity estimates". This study aims to investigate the effect of stimulus type degradation, (dioptric and gaussian) on agreement between psychophysical visual acuity measures with the Landolt C optotypes, grating VA, and VEP based acuity measures. She also interacted with clinical staff of the Eye Unit and got to observe ophthalmological consults in the field of glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, paediatrics, low vision and visual electrophysiology.
